The Workplace: Hybrid is here to stay
Working from home is good for people. Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research reported that across the board using data and metrics that working from home is working out. 42% of U.S. workers are working from home which accounts for more than two thirds of the economic activity. This is huge! I’m sure you remember when working from home was an exception, or even a privilege. We are in a new era, and there is still much yet to be determined in the way of Human Resources management and how we support our teams and our culture as we commit and settle into this new way of working.
Here’s what we see: working from home is good for employees and good for employers, but have we really stopped to understand what means and how that will force our company practices and culture evolve? Our handbooks, practices, and standard operating practices are built on an in person working environment. Our people and teams who we’ve worked to build and connect are now anchored further and further apart and spend less and less time with each other. We’ve evolved, but to keep up with the change, we need to take a beat to become more aware of the internal and Human Resources evolution that must happen to support our people and company growth.
We have been on the front lines of policy change and updates since 2010. We’ve helped countless companies become compliant, stay compliant, and evolve through change. What we’re seeing now, however is that company workforce has changed beyond standard laws and compliance. The rules of engagement haven’t changed, but the way we engage has.

- Have you noticed employee relations struggles due to lack of in person engagement?
