A Booster Shot from HRBOOST® (Jan 2019): Practical Ways to Stop Bullying in the Workplace
Happy New Year!
We welcomed 2019 by taking calls from CEOs that needed strategic HR advisement from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve. My meetings as of late confirm employers are realizing the talent emergency is real. There is no time like now to hire right the first time and truly see talent in nearly every person willing to work.
I can’t but help think it is time to care about the workforce enough to invest in it and while some people think HR is "fluff," I am here to tell you, it is the "hard stuff." It takes shared leadership and a strong commitment to care to build an environment where collaboration and innovation exist.
In the coming month, I will deliver a Webinar focused on actionable information using a tool we know reveals talent’s hard wired strengths and abilities. Hard wired traits don’t change.
It is a person’s cognitive strength that becomes their behavior and their behavior is enacted in your business.
What if I told you I can make it visible to you and your team? You can eliminate hiring mistakes.
And most important, you can engineer your teams to have joy and purpose through their strengths. It is not magic, it is facts that support decisions about people. People that matter.
Blessings Abound,
Nicole

Written by: Jodi Eisenstadt, JD, SPHR, President of Eisen Alliance
Have you been receiving complaints about an employee’s abrasive conduct? When the employee is new or a low performer, it is easy to give feedback, and terminate, if necessary. The challenge surfaces when the employee with bad behavior is viewed as a high performer. Here are some steps to support managing high performers with bad behavior.

If Not DATA…Then What? Today’s Most Critical Business Choice
To quote the Walrus, the time has come to talk of many things, but perhaps the most important one for your business is how DATA can unlock the potential of human capital, affording extraordinary advantages through dramatic advances in talent management and workforce planning.

Nicole Martin: Do You Dread Performance Management? Then Manage Achievement!
For nearly a century, performance management was shaped to “manage” performance. Often the subject of performance reviews brought dread to managers and employees alike.
It is, in fact, the process whereby managers are asked to review an individual’s contribution against stated goals and objectives. Often, this undertaking is delayed in business and has been used historically to rank individuals within a department or begin the process of documenting performance improvement or failure, rather than performance achievement.
